LENDING SECURITIES OFFICER

BRED (Vanuatu) Limited is part of the second largest banking group in France, “Banque Populaire”, which also has regional outlets in New Caledonia, Tahiti, Vanuatu, Fiji and Solomon Islands.  An opportunity is available for a suitably experienced and qualified LENDING SECURITIES OFFICER to be based in Port Vila.

Reporting to Senior Lending Operations Manager and based in Lending Operations Department, this position is established to assist in executing all lending security processes, EOM reporting and procedures to ensure all security documentation is properly prepared, executed, registered and subsequently managed and tracked to protect the Bank’s interests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Instructing solicitors to prepare appropriate security documentation.
  • Recording, checking and filing all types of securities held with the Bank.
  • Execute lending security processes to ensure all security documentation is accurate, executed, registered and subsequently stored securely and tracked to protect the Bank’s interests.
  • Follow through with Solicitors to ensure receipt of documentation in a timely manner and liaise with other internal sections for execution.
  • Creating and maintaining security packets (and inventory) in acceptable Bank best practice.
  • Follow-up all outstanding security documents with relevant parties (i.e. Business & Retail Banking teams and relevant stakeholders).
  • Perform regular checks of security packets to ensure compliance to internal and group policies and requirements.
  • Report to Management periodically regarding the status of security documentation.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Tertiary qualification – Minimum requirement: At least a Diploma qualification in Business, Finance, Banking or a related field from a credible tertiary institution.
  • Experience – minimum of 3 years of experience in a Banking environment or a role very similar to the functions outlined above.
  • Essential – high proficiency in the use of software systems such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Fluent in English and/or French.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize in situations where changes are frequent and can work under pressure to meet deadlines.

REMUNERATION:

  • Remuneration package is negotiable.
