Business Banking Analyst

With an established presence across retail, commercial and corporate banking, opportunities are available for suitably experienced and qualified Business Banking Analyst to be based in Port Vila.

Reporting to Head of Business Banking, this role is established to provide effective support to the Relationship Manager’s (RM) by analyzing, documenting and recommending business lending proposals for a client portfolio, and to assist the RM as per policy and regulatory requirements, to manage the risk profile of the client portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Meeting clients and collating information to support loan applications (new and reviews);
Assessing, analyzing, and evaluating historic and forecast financial data, and client credit history;
Researching and gathering information relating to market trends;
Completing business credit proposals and recommending loans for approved based on a balanced risk assessment;
Developing and executing client relationship strategies by identifying opportunities for new and existing clients to match their needs with BRED’s leading product offering;
Ensuring compliance of BRED’s credit guidelines and procedures;
Engage in improving policies, processes, and procedures within the Business Banking Department; including raising issues which need attention and making recommendations for solutions to mitigate errors and risks.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Tertiary qualification – At least Tertiary Diploma Qualification in Business, Banking & Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a credible and international recognized tertiary institution;
Experience – minimum of 2+ years of credit, accounting and/or business banking experience in business banking and/or credit functions within a banking or financial environment;
Professional/specialist knowledge – Understanding of credit, business finance, risk management and some knowledge in Commercial Law concepts is essential.
Essential Attributes & Competencies – High degree of client service and administrative skills, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel, effective communication and networking skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Being bi-lingual is an advantage.
