With an established presence across retail, commercial and corporate banking, an opportunity is available for a suitably experienced and qualified SENIOR MANAGER LENDING SUPPORT & SECURITIES to be based in Port Vila.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Lending Operations Officer, this senior position specializes in lending back offices and securities documentation. It’s primary focus to support the Bank’s business and retail departments. The core components of the position include facilitating bank’s security documentation and other types of securities functionalities, in compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the end-to-end loan processing operations including disbursements and security documentation aspects.
- Ensuring timely and accurate execution of all lending transactions in line with internal policies.
- Monitor loan portfolio and related securities plus the data quality – also via appropriate first level controls – to identify risk areas and be pro-active in applying corrections where needed.
- Taking initiative to revisit existing process or to complete the current framework, to improve the service delivered.
- Prepare and facilitate security documents that are required to support facilities grated to corporate, business and retail customers.
- Expedite the approval of security requests by ensuring submission is in line with internal guidelines.
- Ensure all requests and approvals have robust audit trials and both customer and internal teams are aware of status and progress of requests.
- Primarily responsible for documentation relating to bank security and act as a resource person in handling any queries relating to bank’s security documentation
- Review regularly the internal framework including the policies to make sure they are all up to date, covering any regulatory changes.
- Validate all security and loan documents required in accordance with the credit approval prior to disbursement of loans.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, also on matters relating to discrepancies or irregularities.
- Managing a team of back-office officers by all the facets (training, mentoring, coaching…).
- Monitoring the performance of the team via KPIs.
- Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with the bank’s panel of solicitors and any other third-party network.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Qualification – At least a tertiary diploma in Business Management, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience – at least three (3) years in an audit firm plus three (3) years in a financial institution.
- Essential – specialized or high proficiency in knowledge and experience dealing with bank’s mortgage and security documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Approachable personality, team player and comfortable working in a diverse and multicultural organization.
